Have Questions? Contact Kingdom Workers Volunteer Coordinator: Laura Harstad   lharstad@kingdomworkers.com

Volunteers are responsible for covering the cost of the trip. If volunteers are interested in fundraising, Kingdom Workers will provide a personal gifting site to help focus fundraising efforts.

 Cost to the volunteer:

  • Airfare
  • Transportation
  • Food (Some meals will be provided. Volunteers need to cover the rest of the meals)

Housing is available on a “first-come” basis. There are several options for housing available, including a small apartment, a vacant parsonage 30 minutes away from the worksite, hotels within 30 minutes, and homestays with local called workers.

Some meals will be provided by the Peridot ladies group.

Cultural Considerations: A short orientation on community culture/demographics/history will be provided for visiting volunteers.

Due to high incidence of alcohol abuse in the surrounding area, drinking alcohol will be highly discouraged on this project.

Apache Lutheran Mission

Project Details:

  • 4+ Skilled Volunteers (spouses welcome)
  • 50% of volunteers will be local
  • Peridot, AZ
  • November 8 or 9 start, lasting 2-3 weeks

The Need: There is a 4 bedroom/2 bath 1,612 sq. ft. manufactured home that will be refurbished for the use of a new pastor on the reservation. This will involve local and visiting volunteers to serve their Lord by using their labor.

1. Clean up
2. Repair Work
3. Flooring
4. Plumbing
5. Paint
6. Appliances

Desired skills, skill level and education of volunteer(s): 4 skilled Handyman/Handywoman, Builders For Christ general skill set for painting, some drywall work, cabinet fixing, appliance instillation, potentially bathroom flooring.

Volunteer Safety: The site is somewhat remote, so there is not easy access to emergency medical care. Those who have serious medical concerns may want to consider this. The possibility of vandalism, theft, and other concerns due to location in a rural reservation will mean that safety will be a priority on the project.
