Builders For Christ IS WORKING in cincinnati, ohio this sUMMER. 

LOCATION:  Cincinnati, OH – Beautiful Savior
DATES:   April 19 – July 30, 2016
NUMBERS OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  10-12 full-time volunteers each week

Starting June 21, 2016, an additional three volunteers are needed each week, through July 30.  A finish carpenter is also needed.

Step 1) Complete the Kingdom Workers Volunteer Application.
 This form is required of all volunteers.* 

Step 2) Complete the BFC Project Form with more specific details. 

NOTE: Completion of these forms does not necessarily mean that you will be placed on this project. You will receive further information from the Project Manager and/or the Volunteer Management Team. 

* In an effort to maintain current records, we ask that all volunteers fill out the volunteer application. If you served on a KW project and filled out an application in 2015, there is an option to fill out the Alumni Application, which is considerably shorter. You must complete the Alumni Application prior to the Project Sign Up form. 

PROJECT OVERVIEW: Builders For Christ is helping this congregation expand their early childhood and Sunday school facilities. Volunteers are adding two classrooms, a second story to a section that already exists, and will remodelling the current structure. The project needs to be completed by the time school starts in the fall.

 The three main phases of work are:

Phase #1 – demolition and framing: weeks 1-5 (approx April 19 - May 16)

Phase #2 – framing, drywall and painting: weeks 6-10 (approx May 16 - June 7)

Phase #3 – painting, ceiling work, trim, wrap up: weeks 11-15 (approx June 7 - July 30)

WHAT TO BRING? Volunteers are asked to use their own personal tools such as a hammer, nail belt, 1”x25’ tape measure, speed square, utility knife with blades, pry bar, and chalk line. All other tools are provided by BFC. If you are a first-time volunteer and don’t own all of these items, please talk to the Project Manager.

HOUSING: Accommodations have been made for an onsite campground with 12 camp sites available. A BFC camper is available to rent at $50/week (first-time volunteers have preference). There is also housing available with some of the members as well as a few hotels in the area. If housing is required, please inform the project manager prior to arrival. Volunteers should not arrive at a site unless housing is arranged with the project manager at least two weeks in advance. Failure to make proper arrangements may result in space being unavailable.

FOOD: The church will furnish a noon meal and two breaks. Volunteers are responsible for their own meals in the morning, evening, and on nonworking days. Anyone not involved with the day-to-day building process are encouraged to assist the church members with the meals and break snacks as needed.

FUNDRAISING: Volunteers are welcome to fundraise to cover transportation, food, or housing costs. Kingdom Workers provides many resources to assist with volunteer’s fundraising efforts.
