PROJECT OVERVIEW: Builders For Christ helped build this mission church in 2011. God has blessed the work of Living Word and now they have outgrown their worship facility. We are working with them again this summer building a 2,016 square foot addition to the existing facility. This addition will be used for pre-school, office space and storage.

The three main phases of work are:

Phase #1 – rough framing, roofing, doors and windows: weeks 1-3 (approx June 7-28)

Phase #2 – fascia, soffit, siding, insulating, drywall: weeks 4-6 (approx June 28 - July 19)

Phase #3 – painting, ceiling work, trim: weeks 7-10 (approx July 19 - August 13)

Volunteers  use their own personal tools such as a hammer, nail belt, 1”x25’ tape measure, speed square, utility knife with blades, pry bar, and chalk line. All other tools are provided by BFC.

HOUSING: There is onsite camping for volunteers.  Housing is also available with some of the congregation members, as well as a few hotels in the area. Volunteers should not arrive at a site unless housing is arranged with the project manager at least two weeks in advance. Failure to make proper arrangements may result in space being unavailable.

FOOD: The church furnishes a noon meal and two breaks. Volunteers are responsible for their own meals in the morning, evening, and on nonworking days. Anyone not involved with the day-to-day building process are encouraged to assist the church members with the meals and break snacks as needed.

FUNDRAISING: Volunteers are welcome to fundraise to cover transportation, food, or housing costs. Kingdom Workers provides many resources to assist with volunteer’s fundraising efforts.
