Share the Gospel with children in Chile
This winter, one volunteer will spend ten days serving the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) mission congregation in Linares, Chile helping with evangelism outreach. The volunteer will help the Kingdom Workers team conduct the first Vacation Bible School in the nearby town of Longaví. The church has an outreach English language program, and the volunteer will observe English language classes and facilitate small group conversations. Women should avoid wearing tight clothing and low-cut tops. Capris are preferable to shorts. Sandals or flip flops may be used in the home to avoid bare feet. As always, respect for the local culture should be demonstrated at all times.
Volunteers should use common sense when out at night to be aware of surroundings and avoid walking alone. Petty theft is the most common crime. Items of value should not be visible. Dogs sometimes roam freely, but rarely cause any harm. People with dog allergies should be aware that dogs are in the homes and outdoors.
Passport must be valid six months beyond the trip return date.
A free tourist card is completed prior to entering immigration.
