Our project in Greenwood is going very well. We are a little over ½ way and our project manager, Martin Leyrer, thinks we are close to a week ahead of schedule. The fellowship area is up, roofed, mechanicals roughed in, siding going on and much of the drywall is done with finished painting to start this weekend.
We are standing trusses on the sanctuary this past Monday. Mondays are normally our volunteers day off. Martin could get a crane for setting the trusses and the volunteers said go for it. Said Martin, “I asked for volunteers and all the volunteers volunteered.” Even God “volunteered” extra time this day. They finished standing the last truss at 5:05 and the rain came at 5:10. What a blessing it is to work with such dedicated people as Builders For Christ work to spread the Gospel one nail at a time.
Pastor Stelljes at Greenwood, Light of Life
“When we began planning for our building two years ago, one of the first things we did was to contact Kingdom Workers to see about getting some BFC volunteers,” says Pastor Stelljes. “We didn't want the BFC volunteers here just so we could save some money on construction. We wanted them here because we recognized the spiritual growth value they bring to a congregation. We knew we would be able to work side-by-side with these wonderfully mature Christian servants. We are blessed by their presence as much as by the work they are doing. Our congregation members have worked with, worshiped with, had fellowship with, and have been able to serve side-by-side with the Builders. We’ve been able to truly see the body of Christ in action. Their dedication to service to their Lord is an every-day inspiration to us all,”
