Position Title: Africa Health and Development Coordinator
Department: Kingdom Workers Ministry Programs
Reports To: Africa Field Manager 
Status: Full-time (Salaried Position) 


The Africa Health and Development Coordinator reports to the Kingdom Workers (KW) Africa Field Manager. The responsibilities of this role include supporting existing and new KW Christian welfare projects in the African continent with global health expertise.

  • Essential duties and responsibilities

    • - Manage and oversee assigned Christian welfare projects with health services, keeping them consistent with the KW Mission Statement and approach to ministry.
      - Monitor and evaluate assigned Christian welfare projects in collaboration with KW evaluation team.
      - Support existing KW projects in Malawi, Nigeria, Ethiopia remotely and with in-person visits (up to 20% travel).
      - In collaboration with the KW Malawi team, engage, train and guide community volunteers.
      - Create and adapt materials for KW project support enhancement.
      - Work with the Africa Field Manager to budget and plan for assigned projects.
      - Develop and maintain strong relationship with Lutheran church leaders.
      - Ensure all regional projects are technically sound and appropriate to local context.
      - Provide insight to Malawi Disability Ministry development.
      - Assess community assets and needs as part of KW project qualification process.
      - Collaborate and coordinate with technical service providers.
      - Maintain and execute a personal plan of ongoing professional development.
      - Perform all activity in a God-pleasing manner and promote a productive organizational environment and Christian atmosphere.
      - Perform other duties as assigned by the Africa Field Manager.

  • Education, Experience, and Characteristics    

    • - A true passion for reaching the lost, a commitment to outreach and discipleship of mission volunteers, good stewardship, and creating a work environment that fosters open and honest two-way communication.
      - Global Health expertise, including research, assessment and preventative health education.
      - Innovation and open-mindedness to creatively handle challenges in different ways, to increase number of people served per year.
      - Proven experience in group facilitation for community development.
      - A college degree in a relevant field is desirable.
      - Reside in or willing to relocate to Malawi or Zambia.
      - Willingness to travel frequently.
      - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
      - Demonstrated management and interpersonal skills and analytical and strategic planning abilities.
      - Proven ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities and projects.
      - Skilled at relationship management and conflict/problem resolution.
      - Demonstrated leadership experience.
      - Must be a member in good standing of a church formally affiliated with the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference (WELS, LCCA:M, LCCA:Z, etc.).
      - Valid Passport required.
      - Valid Driver’s License preferred.

    - Ability to travel by road, air or other means as may be encountered in a developing country.
    - Ability to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
    - Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
    - Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
