WELS Kingdom Workers and the Lutheran Church of Central Africa encourage young people, and Christians of all ages, to move out of their comfort zone and volunteer to serve in Malawi in various ways. These groups of Malawi volunteers use the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ as their purpose for service.

In May of 2008, Dave and Dee Mathiak began service as Kingdom Workers in Lusaka, Zambia. With the start up of a short-term volunteer program in Lusaka beginning in 2012, the Mathiaks have agreed to accept new responsibilities as Volunteer Project Managers (VPM) into 2015.
