You, and all members of the WELS, are invited to serve as builders for Christ. If you’re a carpenter, electrician, mason, plumber, finisher, or 
just generally handy, you’re needed. You can volunteer your time oraccept employment at federal minimum wage to build churches, schools, parsonages, and fellowship halls. If you’re qualified, you may serve as a construction manager.
We have built over 80 projects across the United States and have done work in Africa, Japan, Antigua, and Grenada. Congregation members help where possible – with general construction, serving meals, sweeping floors, and doing general clean up. People are needed in many capacities.
Rewards
You will be rewarded with:
♦ fellowship of other Christians working toward a common goal

And when the project is completed, there’s the pride of a job well done and the satisfaction of helping God’s kingdom grow.
Project lengths and housing
Depending on the size and type of structure, it can takes three to four months to complete a project with Builders For Christ. You may stay for the entire project or spend a few days.
As a builder, you can provide your own housing by staying in a camper or RV near the building site or stay in housing provided by BFC.
Tools needed
We ask that you supply your own hand tools. Larger power tools are provided.
Who are we?
Builders For Christ is a division of WELS Kingdom Workers offered in cooperation with the WELS Board for Home Missions. We help WELS congregations organize, and provide workers who build facilities at a reduced cost. Our membership roster has grown to include over 350 men and women from 17 states.

Through the efforts of people like you who volunteer or work for minimum wage in service to the Lord and his church.
