Kingdom Workers Provo

Share the gospel message with Mormons!

Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.

“How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?”…Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. (Acts 8:30-31 & 35)

THE NEED

Kingdom Workers is partnering with Truth In Love Ministry (TILM) to equip Christians to share God’s powerful and saving Word with Mormons.

GOAL: In most cases when people go door to door their purpose is informational: either to gather information on the people by taking a survey or to disburse information (i.e. papering a neighborhood with a flyer). Our purpose is different. Our goal is to engage Mormons in witnessing conversations and then point them to our witnessing website. Over the last three years we have successfully witnessed to thousands of people at their door.

VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES: Volunteers will be provided training through Truth In Love Ministry on Saturday/Sunday. During the week, volunteers spend the majority of their time planting the seeds of God’s Word. The mission trip wraps up Friday evening, and volunteers head home Saturday.

COST:  Volunteers are responsible for covering the cost of the trip. If volunteers are interested in fundraising, Kingdom Workers will provide an online gifting site to help focus fundraising efforts.

Cost to the volunteer:

• Three meals

• Hotel ($77 plus tax, per night. Cut costs by sharing a hotel room)

• Airfare (if traveling from out-of-state)

Kingdom Workers can reserve the lodging and airfare. Local transportation and most meals will be provided.

WHERE: Provo, Utah

WHEN: June 13-20, 2015 or June 20-27, 2015

NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 10

LODGING & FOOD:  Volunteers will cover the cost for three meals the entire week. The rest will be provided. Lodging will be available at a local hotel in Provo. Rooms contain either king or two queen size beds. Volunteers can choose to share a room with another volunteer(s) to divide the cost of a hotel room. The motel has a free shuttle to the airport.

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION: There are certain things we ask people to do before coming. Saturday evening and much of Sunday is devoted to teaching the above method. In addition, we begin and end each day with on-going training that expands on various ways of keeping the conversation going. We also spend time each morning and evening being encouraged by God’s Word and asking for his blessing through prayer. We spend time getting to know each other so that we can encourage one another. In addition to being part of the whole team already on Saturday you will be assigned to a four-person “squad”. These will be the people with whom you will directly work with each day. We always go door to door in pairs. During the week you will be encouraged to rotate witnessing partners within your squad.
