Top 5 Reasons to become a Kingdom Worker

Every single day the Kingdom Worker office is electrified by stories from all over the planet.  God has blessed us with volunteers that possess an eager intensity to do the Lord’s work and, well, that makes our jobs pretty awesome.  The number of reasons to support and volunteer with Kingdom Workers is gigantic, but after an intense staff survey (only 3 people cried this time) we have compiled 5 of the best reasons in no particular order! (Except #1…that one’s the most important)

5. Strengthen Personal Skills

Kingdom Workers helps make this happen in many ways. Picture helping to build a church for a congregation in need, teaching a classroom of excited and smiling kids, or traveling to another country to develop a program or to teach people about the story of Jesus! When it comes down to it, skills and perceptions are a lot like muscles. The more you challenge them and test them the more they grow! Getting out of that comfort zone is crucial to self-mastery and development. Kingdom Workers happens to be great at empowering volunteers to do that in a safe and fun way!

4. Experiencing Different Cultures

Have you ever met someone that had been to a whole bunch of different states or countries? They come back with stories from all over the world and from all sorts of situations with new and interesting friends. Just imagine how much that person learned! Those stories are great, but in the end do they really live up to that person’s international experience? Why not have some of your own!? Go and see God’s creation. Remember the Great Commission! Matt. 28:16-20 (see #1)

3. Make Life-Long Friends

Christ’s family consists of people from every walk of life.  One of the most amazing blessings that have been given to us is the opportunity to spend time in fellowship with our Christian brothers and sisters around the world.  Can you think of a better way to build meaningful connection with someone? Congregations often turn to Kingdom Workers to organize missions in their own back yards, and host families are often asked to give our volunteers places to stay! It is very common to develop connections with fellow volunteers, host families, and congregations that last a lifetime!

2. Positive Societal Impact

There are all sorts of things that Kingdom Workers does that make the world a better place. Kingdom Workers has three areas of focus: The Lutheran Health Alliance helps congregations get involved in health services, the Builders for Christ help congregations in need to build new and better facilities, and Faith in Action teaches all sorts of people the saving Word of God and other skills J.

1.     Tell people about the Gospel!

As Christians, the Lord has given us all the true privilege of helping others come to faith. This is THE POINT of Kingdom Workers. We want you to join us! Check out our website to see how you can get involved in doing just this, whether it’s volunteering, becoming an advocate, or giving a financial gift.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt 28:18b-20

I would like you to remember that these are just 5 reasons from the staff as to why it’s great to be a Kingdom Worker, but there are many more. We learn so much from each of our volunteers, but one of the biggest points it is that there are as many wonderful reasons to be a Kingdom Worker as there are people in the world. We hope you decide to be our next volunteer, donor, or advocate and that you experience your own Kingdom Worker adventure for Christ.
